As of now, the iPhone 15 series, unveiled by Apple on September 12, is in the pre-order phase in our country. Particularly noteworthy in the Pro models are the titanium frames and new camera technologies used by the company. Apple has already started working on the iPhone 16 family, set to be introduced next year. Recent reports indicate that the company aims to incorporate its new camera features into more models.
Camera features specific to iPhone 15 Pro Max will also be available in 16 Pro
While the iPhone 15 Pro Max stands out as the only device with the new periscope camera featuring 5x optical zoom, this situation will change with the introduction of the iPhone 16 series next year. According to the latest report from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, unlike this year, the company will use the telephoto sensor with the new periscope design in all Pro models next year.
With this development, the most significant difference among the iPhone 15 Pro models will be closed with the new series. As known, the telephoto sensor with the tetraprism design introduced with the 15 Pro Max allows for longer focal distances. It is noted that the production of this lens, which effectively increases the distance between the lens and the sensor by reflecting light within the lens, is quite challenging. Therefore, it is currently considered unlikely for standard and Plus models to benefit from this technology.
Currently, this new lens is manufactured only by the Taiwanese company Largan, and it is mentioned that having a single manufacturer in this field poses various production challenges. It is expected that in the future, even if not in the 16 series, Apple will increase the number of suppliers and incorporate this new technology into more iPhone models.
